- Will I be able to submit a paper application?
No. Applications are considered only if submitted online. If you require reasonable accommodation because of a disability for any part of the application or hiring process, please contact 984-250-7012. Please indicate the specific assistance needed. - Will IMR employ candidates who reside outside of NC?
No. IMR is an NC-based employer. Upon acceptance of an offer, the candidate must currently reside or be willing to relocate to NC. - Will my application automatically be considered for future job postings?
No. You must apply to each job posting of interest even if the position title is the same. Each posting represents a separate opportunity. - What can be expected during the hiring process?
- Confirmation of receipt of completed application
- Human Resources application/resume review
- Hiring manager review
- Communication from Human Resources if additional information needed
- Phone Screen
- Interview with the hiring manager and team members
- Offer of employment to the selected candidate
- If/when offer accepted, completion of WOC paperwork
- Federal background check including criminal history, education, licensing, credential verification, etc.
- Would I hear back on a job if not selected?
Yes. Email notification will be sent if not selected. - Will you check my background?
Yes. IMR employees must obtain a Without Compensation Appointment (WOC) or WOC Affiliate to work on programs at the Durham VA Health Care System. All IMR employees are required to obtain a Workers Without Compensation (WOC) appointment at the Durham VA Health Care System (DVAHCS). Upon hiring, the successful candidate must undergo a federal background check and may be subject to a drug test. Expected start date is typically ~6 weeks following job offer and is contingent upon completion and processing of VA paperwork. Participation in the vaccination programs may be required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Workers Without Compensation (WOC) appointments. - Will IMR sponsor applicants on a work visa?
No. IMR will not sponsor applicants for work visas. - Upon hire, would I be considered a VA or federal employee?
No. IMR employees are not VA or federal employees and not compensated by the VA. You would be an IMR employee; therefore, compensated by IMR. - What ethical and regulatory guidelines does IMR fall under?
IMR falls under the ethical and regulatory guidelines related to VA research. - Who should I contact if I have questions about my employment status?
